In-app Instant Access: FAQ

Introduction

For credentialed access via mobile device there are few options available. Most Bluetooth implementations have limitations for proximity and require a third-party application and in some cases new hardware to use with existing gate hardware. In-app Instant access is a new product module that frees the mobile users from using traditional Weigand devices by allowing the app to connect with gate controllers the communities on our platform.

Overview

Our FRONTSTEPS Dwelling ‘dlmobile’ app now features a new ‘In-app Access’ section, easily identifiable by a key icon. When enabled via the web portal, resident users will see a list of doors, complete with schedules and access days. If a door is accessible at the current time, it will be enabled; if not, it will appear disabled but visible. A Resident user will simply open the app, tap the listed door, and gain instant access. Community Administrators can set the schedule for each door and enable this feature for any door.
