Scheduled Bulletin Emails
Manager release notes, 10 September 2026, Version Folder-only documents, stability, bulletin, and amenity fixes. Published on frontsteps.com/release-notes.
What’s New
Folder-Only Document View
Management companies can now choose to show documents by folder only, hiding individual file lists and the “Updated At” column.Feature Overview:
A new management-company-level setting changes how documents are presented across all of that company’s communities. When the setting is on, the Internal, Accounting, and External Documents screens and the Community Records section show folders only. Individual file lists and the “Updated At” column are hidden. The search fields on these screens are relabeled “Search Folders” to match what they return. The setting is being enabled gradually, company by company, and is available on the web.
Before the change
After the change
Benefits:
- Cleaner document navigation: Residents and board members browse by folder instead of scrolling through long file lists.
- Consistent across communities: One company-level setting applies the same experience to every community the company manages.
- Less confusion over dates: Removing the “Updated At” column avoids questions about when a document was last changed.
What’s Improved
Page Navigation Stability
Managers moving between pages and communities see far fewer unexpected error pages.Previous Behavior:
Some managers ran into intermittent error pages while navigating the portal, most often in Bulletins, in Community and Accounting Settings, and when switching between communities. In some cases, the error logged the manager out and cost them unsaved work. The problem was sporadic, which made it frustrating and hard to predict.
Resolution:
The underlying causes of these intermittent errors have been addressed. Managers can move between tabs, settings, and communities more reliably, without losing their place or their work.
Scheduled Bulletin Emails
Scheduled bulletins now arrive in residents’ inboxes once, not twice.
Previous Behavior:
When a bulletin was scheduled to send at a future date and time, some residents received duplicate copies of the same email on the scheduled send date. Duplicates cluttered inboxes, prompted resident complaints, and risked important communications being ignored or marked as spam.
Resolution:
Scheduled bulletins now send a single email to each recipient on the scheduled date. Managers can schedule communications with confidence that residents will receive one clean copy.
Amenity Booking Approval Alert
Approving a booking for a free amenity no longer shows a payment alert.
Previous Behavior:
When a manager approved a booking for an amenity that requires manual approval but no payment, Community displayed a “Capture Payment on Approval” alert even though there was nothing to charge. The alert was confusing and suggested a payment step that didn’t apply.
Resolution:
The payment alert now appears only when approving bookings for paid amenities. Managers can approve free bookings without an unnecessary payment prompt.
