PROCESSES TO INSTALL TELEPHONE ENTRY HARDWARE
To install a unit and set up the connection to FRONSTEPS Dwelling, a scheduled support call is needed. The installer must contact the support team and schedule a call to finalize the installation, so the resident directory information updates from the FRONTSTEPS Dwelling community directory for that community.
To connect the Doorking unit to FRONTSTEPS Dwelling, the Support team will need the following information for each unit to be installed:
-
Name of the location where the unit will be installed.
-
The Public IP address of the network on which the Doorking unit is set up.

-
The TCP port is used on the network to forward incoming connections to each unit’s local IP address.
-
(Optional) Greeting message to appear on the unit’s screen.
-
The number of digits in the directory code (can be set at a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 4)
![]()
-
Master Code for each unit (4-digit master code)
Support will enter the settings on the platform and perform a test sync once data becomes available (standard wait is 24 hours for a resident directory file to be generated and available to send to each unit).
