OPENALPR LPR Hardware Installation Requirements

OPENALPR LPR HARDWARE INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS 

OpenALPR software does not specify a specific camera for these systems but requires an IP camera that can use the RTSP protocol (see camera specifications to verify this). Any IP camera with that protocol will work.

License Plate Reader PCs (Windows 10 and later) 

This is a Windows PC which can be purchased through FRONTSTEPS or from a third-party. 

 

MINIMUM SPECIFICATIONS 

  • Processor – Intel i5 Quad-core 3.0 GHz 

  • Operating System - Windows 10 

  • Graphics - Intel® Integrated Graphics 

  • Memory – 16GB RAM 

  • Storage - 512 GB SSD 

  • Stable Power 

  • Stable Internet (minimum 30 Mbps download speed,) 

Note: other devices on the same connection will require more bandwidth 

LPR Camera (OpenALPR) 

This is any IP camera that supports the RTSP protocol and Multichannel streaming (if sending image data to multiple places) 

  • Stable Power (PoE cameras can be used) 

  • Stable Internet (minimum 30 Mbps download speed,)
