Voting Booth description

The Voting Booth tool allows a user to add a voting option or a survey to their site. This is a useful tool when needing to gather feedback on certain issues or requesting opinions. The voting booth option is easy to use and is customizable to the user’s need. This option includes the following features:

Add the Voting Booth Module

To add a Web Page:

  1. Click the Publish menu, click Publish Content, then from the drop down click Web Page or Menu Item. The Create New Page, Module, or Menu Item Editor will be displayed.

  1. Choose the Use Pre-Built Module. From the drop down menu click on Voting Booth List.
  1. In the Permissions drop down menu, select the desired security level. The Permission level is based on an ascending hierarchy. The Guest permission level allows all non-registered users and above to access certain items on the site, while the Manager permission level only allows association managers and above to access certain items. Helpful hint: The guest would be the preferred way so that residents that aren’t logged in can still see the module but not necessarily the booth itself because at the individual booth level you can set role based permissions
  1. If you would like to add Voting Booth to your Web site's menu, select Add to Menu, then enter a Menu Name, Menu Tool Tip, and where you would like the page to be displayed within the menu.
  1. The value entered in the Menu Name field will be displayed in the menu. We recommend using brief names.
  2. The Menu Tool Tip is used to hold descriptive text about the menu item. The descriptive text displays when a user hovers their mouse over the menu option. It typically includes a brief description for the user, e.g., "To get the latest scoop about what’s happening in our association, click here."
  3. The "Place Within" and "Display Before" drop down menus are used to indicate where you would like the menu item placed within the main menu. Both drop down menus contain a sequential listing of all menu items. Simply select the appropriate value from each menu. If you would like the Web page to be displayed at the end of the main menu, choose the "<At Main Menu End >" option.
  1. Click Save. Upon saving, you will see the page you just added. Be sure to review your entry.
